Mr. John Byrne has taken up the role of CEO of Order of Malta Ireland, replacing Mr Peadar Ward who retires after 5 years.

Commander John Wright KM, National Director of the Ambulance Corps welcomes Mr Byrne to his new role at St. John’s House, and looks forward to working closely with him for the greater good of the Order, and particularly the Ambulance Corps.Commander Wright in expressing, on behalf of himself and the Ambulance Corps, his sincere admiration, appreciation and gratitude to Peadar Ward, KM, notes that he not only served as our CEO for the past five years, but previously had been National Director of the Ambulance Corps. Mr Ward oversaw a major transformation in OMAC’s management style and use of new technology in improving our services, and thereby set us on a good path of engagement with wider society and indeed among ourselves. Mr Ward has given almost forty years of loyal and valuable commitment and service to the Order. On behalf of the Organisation and each of its members we wish Mr Ward many more years of enjoying a healthy, happy and wonderful retirement.
