Order of Malta France honours the Unknown Soldier

The Order of Malta in Ireland extends its warm congratulations to our colleagues in Order of Malta France following their participation, on Saturday 10 October, in the ceremony to rekindle the Flame of the Unknown Soldier beneath the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

At the invitation of the French authorities, volunteers from the Association’s emergency medical, solidarity services and cadets proudly marched along the Champs-Élysées before taking part in this solemn national act of remembrance.

The ceremony honours those who gave their lives for France and affirms the enduring duty of remembrance. It was a fitting occasion for Order of Malta France to represent the Order’s long tradition of service to Our Lords the Poor and the Sick, while paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
