Support families devastated by Super Typhoon Nando, Typhoon Bualoi and successive earthquakes

The Order of Malta is responding to a severe, compounding humanitarian emergency across the Philippines. In late September and October, Super Typhoon Nando, Typhoon Bualoi, Typhoon Paolo, and a series of major earthquakes (including two powerful shocks in Mindanao) left widespread destruction: millions affected and over 180,000 homes destroyed or damaged, according to UN-linked assessments shared with our Asia Pacific partners. The Philippine Association of the Order of Malta mobilised immediately with food, hygiene kits and medicines through parish and diocesan networks, and Malteser International is coordinating additional relief and early recovery support. Further resources are urgently needed.

What your donation will fund (priority needs)

  • Emergency relief kits: staple food, clean water, hygiene items and basic medicines for displaced families.
  • Health & protection: mobile medical support and psychosocial first aid for affected communities.
  • Shelter & recovery: tarpaulins, toolkits and materials to stabilise homes while longer-term rebuilding plans are developed with local partners.

Every contribution—large or small—helps our teams sustain life-saving operations now and strengthen recovery for the months ahead. As our Grand Hospitaller has underlined, the need for basic assistance is immediate and significant across the worst-hit regions.
