World Day of Peace – Dublin

Members of the Order of Malta were pleased to be in attendance at the World Day of Peace Mass celebrated on 1 January at the Church of the Guardian Angels, Dublin. The Mass was celebrated by Archbishop Dermot Farrell, with the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Luis Mariano Montemayor, and Archbishop Diarmuid Martin among the concelebrants.

In his homily, Archbishop Farrell reflected on peace not as the mere absence of conflict, but as an active and life-giving gift rooted in God’s will, grounded in Scripture and sustained by hope. The occasion provided a fitting moment of prayer and reflection at the beginning of the New Year, aligning closely with the Order’s longstanding commitment to service, reconciliation and the promotion of human dignity.
